Default any ideas on how to make a sweet brown ale

any ideas on how to make a light, sweet, brown ale recipie that could mimick flavors from a sugar cookie? i am planning on using vanilla beans to get some of the sugar cookie flavor but any other ideas on how to replicate this? I have never made a brown and don't know what malts/hops to use. again trying to create a sweet, light (4-5%abv) brown......all grain.

Easiest way would be to brew my Ginger snap brown ale recipe, but replace the ginger snaps with sugar cookies in the mash. And maybe add 1/4 - 1/2 pound of lactose in the last 15 minutes of the boil, for some residual sweetness.
