Ancient Egyptian beer recipe?

Anyone have one or know where to find one?

I'm going to have a night of weird ancient beer in over the holidays. In addition to that Phrygian/Lydian recipe from BYO a while ago, I'd like to try an Egyptian one.

I've read a fair amount about Egyptian beer/brewing in scholarly literature, but never have come across a recipe.

Anyone know any?

1 lb barley flour
1 lb millet flour
2 cups corn sugar
Water to make dough
Baker's yeast.

Have you ever brewed this?

I wanted something that would come out sort of reddish and thick, as in the 'Tale of the Destruction of Humanity' when Sekhmet got drunk, confusing the Ennead's beer for human blood. Maybe add some emmer? The Egyptians did brew with it often.

And, I'll try to figure out the equivalent sweetness of date juice and/or honey to use in lieu of the corn sugar.

But this is a helpful beginning.
