Default American Wheat

Anyone have any good American wheat recipes they might want to share. I'm not a big wheat fan (I think). The only one so far that I like is Tommyknockers Jackwhackers Wheat. I know it's any American wheat, and they use lemongrass. So..............I'm willing to try something, whether it be an all grain or extract. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Where are you located in IL?

If you're not a big wheat fan then why not try a light ale and substitute some of the light malt with some wheat DME, say 1-2 lbs?

The next beer I'm brewing is BierMuncher's Litehaus Wheat recipe, which is a close approximation of Boulevard Wheat:

I've not had it before, but I have a sneaking feeling it'll turn out well

Check Austin Homebrew Supply- they actually have a lemongrass wheat kit available right now. Buy it once, have the recipe forever.

I recently brewed an all extract wheat. I am waiting to see how it turns out though.

4 pounds light DME
3.3 pounds liquid wheat extract.

I used Willamette hops (1oz) with no finishing hops. I may dry hop though in my secondary if it needs a little extra hop flavor.

you could easily convert that to all grain.

the guy that owns the homebrew shop near me makes one with 6.6 pounds of wheat liquid extract and 2 pounds of light DME. He swears by it, but he is a winemaker first then a brewer.
