Amarillo Single Hop IPA reciple- opinons?

Has anyone here done a single hop Amarillo IPA? I am gonna do one tomorrow. As usual, i want a VERY FLAVORFUL (but not real bitter) Hop Bomb.
Here is the recipe so far. Any and all suggestions and feedback is appreciated:
Amarillo IPA
Brew Type: All Grain Date: 3/8/2008
Style: India Pale Ale Brewer: Krazy Ken
Batch Size: 5.40 gal Assistant Brewer: Chris C
Boil Volume: 6.88 gal Boil Time: 60 min

Looks like a solid recipe to me. I'd up the IBU's a bit if it were me, but I'm a hophed.

I have just been looking over my brew log book and thinking the extra $$$ for liquid yeasts is worth it to me.
The one brew I did make with SafAle 05 ws a dicaetyl bomb because I screwed up, but I am pretty well comitted to quality wet yeasts now.
Knowing I run about 70-75% I was looking at scaling your grains down, and scaling my hops up since I have a pound of Amarillo in the freezer oxidating. I'll have to go to Target and grab a salad spinner to get the wort back out of all my hops...
Looks like # 1 (Chico) #8, #29 or #51 from White. I moved from dry to test tube yeast from White just cause I am a pack rat and I know I'll use my collection of test tubes for something some day.
I have used a smackpack and liked the beer....

I'm thinking along the lines of a straight Amarillo, a straight Simcoe and a Amarillo/Simcoe IPA. Then to a side by side sampling. Not sure which one to use as bittering in the 3rd batch.

Look at my recipes. That IPA is the best beer (IMO) that I have ever made. I have found no one that has not liked it.

You definitely do not need 2 packages of Nottingham for 5 gallons. People will use 1 package for 10 gallons. Also, the 1 lb of Honey Malt might be a bit much. The stuff packs a punch.

How long do you steep your final hops. I do mine at least 30 minutes. Check my recipe pulldown for my APA

I was thinking the same thing. I LOVE honey malt, but it is very sweet, and a little goes a long way. I'd cut it down to a 1/2 lb if I were you.

I feel like some amarillo dry hopping would be great too. maybe just do one ounce for those last two additions and dry hop with 2?
is the honey supposed to replace the caramel/crystal? maybe do half pound of each?
