Default 5 gallon recipe to 10 gallons

I am getting a larger brew pot so I would like to start making 10 gallon batches. I use extract + specialty grains. Do I just double the recipe and make a larger starter? Do any online stores sell 10 gallon recipe kits?

Just double it all. Buy two kits.

As you said, double the recipe and make a large starter.

Know of any place that sells 10 gallon kits for a little bit cheaper then 2 - 5 gallon kits?

Unless you have a big enough fermenter, I'd say do two starters with two different yeasts.

I doubt it. Five gallons is the standard size. Have you considered moving away from kits? Kits are always going to be more expensive than stocking your brewing pantry with ingredients and doing your own recipes.

If I was going to stock the pantry, how long do specialty grains stay good for?
