Default When Reconditioning Kegs...

If you use a wrench to remove the posts, DON'T stick your thumb out for leverage, just keep pulling. I sheared the tip of mine off tonight between the wrench and the keg handle, when the post finally gave. Passed out when cleaning it with alcohol and did a faceplant into the floor. Yay for life experience.

Damn that's harsh.

Here another stupid thing I did when I first got a keg - I was using a socket wrench to take off the disconnect post. Apparently there was still quite a bit of pressure in the keg. I heard gas coming out and stopped. The disconnect flew off the keg and hit me in the face right below the eye.

Wow good to know, I have a socket to fit most of my ball-lock kegs. If they are hard to move I'll soak them upside down in oxyclean a while. I hope you heal quickly!
