Default What is the shallowest grain bed for fly sparging ?

How large can I make my mash vessel for a 6 gallon batch ? I am trying to size the mash vessel so I can make 6 and 12 gallon batches.

What is the shallowest a grain bed can be for fly sparging ? How does 5 inches sound ?

The minimum grain bed depth should be 4 inches; so you'll be fine with a depth of 5.
