Default Use stained aluminum pot?

Bought a new 32qt aluminum pot and boiled some water in it to put a layer of oxidation on it. Now it's half black inside where the water was. Can I brew as is without risk of off flavors or do I need to clean the black off?

The black coating is aluminum oxide, that is what you want, and why you boiled the water. Yes...use it.

haha yep. Sorry. The "stain" is what you were trying to get by boiling it. You are safe.
