Has anyone thought of drilling and tapping threaded holes into the wall of an aluminum pot? With many people wanting to go electric, myself included, it seems like it could be a better solution than some conglomeration of nuts, washers, o-rings and things. I like it because I can't find anyone to do food grade welding easily.
I guess you could use it for Your heating element, your thermometer, valves and drain. Just put a high temp o-ring in and thread it all the way in. You would have to be carefully as aluminum is not the strongest metal but you wouldn't have to have any nuts in you pot. That just sounds dirty!
So, Has anyone done this or thought about it? Thoughts. Input. Suggestions.....
