Default Stout kegging question

Do I have to use a stout tap to serve a stout or is just nice to have? Thanks.

The only thing more asinine than stupid rules is the enforcement of rules simply because they are the rules.

Just nice to have. Not required at all. Unless you WANT the cascading feature when poured through a stout faucet.
