Default Stainless Braid Options for MLT

I was think of the amount of waste we homebrewers create. We throw away a whole bunch of plastic and other pieces from these stainless water hoses... So I went looking for another option.

What do you guys think about something like this for an MLT "manifold"?
cableorganizer.com/stainless-steel-braid (the auto url wasn't working)
Stainless Steel Braided Sleeving | Stainless Steel Cable Sleeving | Wire Sleeving | CableTiesAndMore.com

It seems though that these may be too flexible (maybe needing a spring on the inside?). But the sizes are price are about right.

I'll remember this next time my braid gets crushed form 28lbs of grain and I need to replace it.

Or I could just buy a nice 15 gallon brew pot and mash in it..........

I recall reading reports of problems ith this type of sheathing, too fine and too flimsy, of course YMMV. I would not try to use one.

If you're looking to take a more "green" approach, ordering a small item like that which requires individual packaging and shipping via truck is probably not the best overall decision.

I just envision it showing up in a bag, inside a 8" x 8" box filled with foam peanuts.

Good intentions but you're probably better to just pickup an unpackaged hose from Home Depot during your next visit and then give the excess hose to 2-3 other brewers.
