SS "paper plate holder" false bottom?

For the life of me I can't find this via search..

Someone posted they made a false bottom from a SS paper plate holder.

Where do you find these? I can't seem to find them via google.

I've seen a few threads with false bottoms made from pizza pans...the type covered with small perforations to help crisp the crust.

The paper plate holders though are perforated stainless. Pretty much the same as used in false bottoms avialble from HB suppliers.

I searched for those as well and they seem to be gone. There was a thread about these and I bought two of them. One for its intended purpose and one to cannibalize as an experiment for false bottom. You have to remove the handle and then cover the opening. I did so with stainless screen and some stainless wire from the hop stopper experiment which failed with too much cold break. My report is the false bottom worked very well using this method. I drilled a hole in the center for my pick up tube and was happy. I have since purchased a real false bottom to replace it but for about $25 and and hour of work you have a working FB. I don't think it is a very high quality stainless but it did do the job.
