Sight gauges

I'm looking to get the sight gauge thermo combo kit from Bargain Fittings. Anyone here have any experience with it or care to comment? Even though it has an eyelet to fasten at the top and is a polycarbonate vs. glass, I'm worried about it breaking too often.

I recommend brewing hardware - Bobby M is a regular here and was very helpful. Great quality.

Thanks but he doesn't seem to carry any sight gauges.

Go Here Currently they are having an issue with too many orders and their suppliers, but he does seem to make great quality sight guages and gives great customer service. I plan to get one for myself when I upgrade my kettle.

Yes bobbym has sight glass therm combos on his sight along with instructions how to install and the numbers with more instructions on how to calibrate the vessel

You guys are right, I was going to brewershardware.com. It appears that the one he sells is similar to the one on Bargain Fitting's site. I'm assuming those of you that posted here have one. Taking the vendor out of the question (because I don't have a preference one way or another) have you had problems with these breaking even with the eyelet on the top to hold the top?

I've had one of these (bought through bargain fittings, pointed out in case there are any differences in materials used) on my HLT for about a year now. It works great, and I've had no problems. The only "issue" I did run into is that, since the stainless T fitting for the sight glass and the thermometer sits just a tough higher than a typical sight glass fitting, I had to cut the sight glass down by an inch or two to keep its top just below the top of my keggle (I like to store my keggles upside down, and this would have risked damage to the sight glass). Bobby may already account for this in his kits.

Thanks for the feedback. Exactly what I was looking for (regardless of the vendor).

Personally I think which vendor matters, duh :p

If you want to browse what I have, use this link: http://www.brewhardware.com?browse=1 but please only do so after reading the notice that pops up on http://www.brewhardware.com

I like to think my sight glass offering has several advantages over all competition.
