Default Is this the right Refractometer?

Okay I bought one refractometer but... being an idiot I just bought it without looking at the range... So it only went from 0-10...

So I am looking at buying this one. I think this is the right one but I want to have someone that actually knows a bit about them look at it and let me know.

It looks like it says it does 0-40 brix... It's a bit confusing because I think it also does ABV% too...

Thanks!!!

That is the right one. Here is a chart showing the conversions.

to my understanding that just means you don't have to aim it towards a light... I could be wrong though so take it for what it is...

The one I have now it's not that hard to see through it. If I am near a lamp or ceiling light it's fine. Outside is even easier..

OK. Thanks.

I recently read some where that refractometers were no good for FG as the alchohol throws off the reading. This true?

We had a thread on this recently. Promash has a calculator for it.

Which tool do you use for FG in promash for refractometers?

I stand corrected (now that I know there is a correction table).
