Default Removing metal from plasma cutter sparks from inside of keg

I used a plasma cutter to cut the tops of my kegs (doing some keggle conversions) and afterwards when I went to clean them I out, I found that there was a scaly residue on the inside of the keg walls. On further inspection, it appears that the scales were tiny metal deposits (somewhat rusty in appearance) from the sparks thrown off during the plasma cutting process (I now know I should've filled the kegs with water, but can't go back unfortunately).

What I'm trying to determine now is how I can safely remove these scales and prevent rusty metal from getting in contact with my water and wort without removing the oxygen barrier or generally scratching/destroying my stainless.

Thanks in advance!

a sheet metal shop i used to work at had plasma cutters.
the people who ran those machines used metal chisel looking tools to
remove any slag deposits from the sheet metal.
take your time, work slowly and perhaps you can remove them without scratching things all to hell.

Make sure that whatever tool you use is stainless to minimize contamination.
