Just thinking . . . what is the temperature range on the alarm? Does it go as low a fermentation temps? Might be nice to put one on the side of the carboy in the basement and know if a real active yeast has gotten the temperature too high. Is there an automatic shut-off to save battery life?
Personal taste is one thing, but to be arrogant about yours is what makes you an a-hole. Don't be an a-hole with personal taste.
