Default really big spoon

So I got a score of 2nd hand homebrew stuff. I've slowly been upping the size of my boils and suddenly realized what in the world the 28 inch spoon would be good for. But how in the world do I sanitize it? Or should I just give it a good wipedown, as being in the boiling wort will keep it clean?

I just make sure I clean it good and don't worry too much about stuff that goes in the boil. Stuff that touches it AFTER it boils I worry about.
