Default Proper boiler/stockpot?

Is a enamel stainless steel pot detrimental to batch? The old camping type; blue with white spots all over it.

You can use it if it is in good shape and the enamel is not cracked and there are no rust spots peeking through, but eventually the enamel will crack and the non stainless steel will rust, tainting whatever you put in it.

The catch here is that it is not stainless, it is regular steel w/ a ceramic coating. These work fine for starter pots if in good condition. If you have one by all means use it. IMO, not worth buying one, an inexpensive aluminum pot, or a cheapo stainless pot is only a few bucks more and will serve you better.
