Default Precise Heat 65 Quart Kettle

Anyone here using one of these? I might buy one....

I also noticed that the Northern Brewer Megapots and the pots at Morebeer all state the benefits of the three layer bottoms.... nut Blichmann didnt go that route with the Boilmaker and people dont seem to have any problems there. Does it make a difference?

That looks like the same kettle as the Mega Pots or Update International. It's a good kettle.

To answer your question though; no. The triple bottom is not needed for brewing. Those are great heavy duty kettles but they were designed for the restaurant industry for making thick sauces, soups, etc which have a high tenancy to scorch. Beer isn't very viscous and with stirring and natural convection scorching really isn't an issue.

They are a little thicker but also weigh about 50% more and are more expensive.
