Default Plastic Gallon Jugs

Hi, I'm wondering if it'd be ok to ferment some stuff in a plastic gallon jug? I've got a gallon jug that cider came in with a recycle sign of 2. Can I ferment some hard lemonade in this container or will some nasties from the plastic leach into the liquid?

Thanks!
