So I have a PID and a Ranco temp controller, I am putting together a kegerator and an electric HLT, and i'm not sure which to use what for. Any ideas should i go PID->kegerator Ranco->HLT or visa versa

You can not use a PID controller on a kegerator, the on and off cycling would destroy the compressor/motor.

When the compressor shuts off it shouldn't come back on for a minimum of 5-10 minutes making a PID loop impracticable. Your Ranco will be more then adequate for your kegerator.

So PID for HLT and Ranco for kegerator......
