Haven't used one myself, but I know someone who tossed his in the trash after his dog bumped it and the whole thing fell over. Carboy shattered, dog got cut-up.

I too have no personal experience. But its worth noticing that every time these come up someone explains that the shoulder geometry is not as conical as we'd really like it to be.
