Opinions / Thoughts on AHB Kettles
My next batch is going to be AG so I'm currenly working on buying the equipment. I need a bigger brew kettle and wanted to get any opinions and thoughts on a few from Austin's Home Brew.
These are the two that I'm considering but curious if the $70 difference is really worth the investment. $229 http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?products_id=12892 $309 http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?products_id=11290 |
I think those are both good options. I have a Boilermaker and like it very much.
You may also want to consider this 9 gallon kettle. http://www.homebrewfinds.com/2011/04/great-deal-9-gallon-stainless-kettle-2.html |
I have the 40 qt AHS pot (but without the spigot, etc.)--just the basic pot. I've been happy with it. I'm about 40 batches in--no problems with it at all. Obviously, I can't attest to the therm/spigot/etc., but those are easily replaced if there is a problem so long as the hole is done right.

I would look here http://www.homebrewstuff.com/servlet/the-218/8-gallon-32-qt/Detail, that is the pot I have and then when I went to upgrade I just got an Update International pot (that's the same pot in the link) from a restaurant supplier online for way cheap, I think 124 for a 15 gallon pot, just had to drill my own holes.
