Gathering equipment to do all grain. Was about to buy my first turkey fryer, when suddenly, like magic, there was one on the side of the road!
I ran it for 10 minutes and it seems to work fine. At least to my noob perceptions.
Just to make sure its "normal:"
1. How long does it take a normal fryer to bring 6 gallons to a boil?
This one seemed to raise 6 gallons of water by 3*F every minute (40*F outside). So, I'm guessing (212 - 152)/3 is roughly 20 minutes for mine.
How many batches(5gallon)/hours before you refill a 20 lb tank?
Just want to make sure this one is in the ballpark. Thanks. Also, any fryer/propane advice you have for a noob is appreciated.
