I just got a new Chugger pump and I want to know how people incorporate theirs into their process.

1. I added a spout to my HLT. How do you guys measure your additions to your mash tun? I used to dump the entire pot, but this won't work with a spout and pump. Any tips on this?

2. I plan to recirculate the mash. I use a 10 gal. cooler as a mash tun. How much will recirculating effect my mash temp? Should I just recirculate for the last 10 minutes?

3. Should I sparge with the pump or use gravity?

4. I plan to whirlpool while using my copper internal chiller. I will start the pump just before flame out to sanitize the system.

5. Finally, I plan to run hot Oxyclean through it just after transfer to clean it and the hoses.

Any feedback, thoughts or other advice before my first run is welcome.
