Default Need info quick please - propane fittings too hot???

hey I was just outside putting my oxide layer on my new eastman turkey fryer (you know the $30 deal) and the gas line and fitting where it connects to the burner is getting pretty hot and my water is only up to 160 degrees. Is this normal or do I need to put some foil or something there to protect it? Need to know soon before all my water cools too much

Wow I can't believe no one replied to this

Anyways I made a foil barrier between the flame and the connection/hose....fixed it

You should not have to put anything on the fitting or the hose.

I think the oxide statement threw some folks for a loop. Most people use Stainless Steel kettles for brewing.
