Default Mold in a bucket

I pulled an Ale Pail out of storage in my garage and it stunk like dirty feet. I looked inside and found some mold a other "stuff". Can this be cleaned or is this my new garbage can? I saw another thread about a spigot infection and
I was wondering if the lower price of plastics is worth it in the long run. It seems there are so many cracks and crevices for bad things to hang out. I know, I know I should have cleaned it better before storing it.....

At the price of a new bucket.....I'd turn it into a utility item. "You can never have too many plastic buckets."

It could be cleaned with any non-abrasive house hold cleaner, and the spigot replaced, then sanitzed with starsan and be used. However if there is even one scratch in it- its not good for brewing. NO BREWING WITH SCRATCHED PLASTICS!!! I agree with the others and use it for utility and purchase a new one.

Like QueenCityAler said, if it has any scratches in it, then use it to clean your immersion chiller or to soak items, but it's life as a fermenter is over. In other words, if it has been used to store anything other than wort, then use it for something else. My buckets are going on 3 years without issue, but nothing touches the inside except wort, cleaning solutions, star san, and brand new non abrasive sponges.
