I'm designing my own brutus-10 type clone and I want to start pricing out steel for the frame, but I'm wondering whether I should go with three keggles, or three Stainless Italian Kettles somewhat like the Brutus is shown with here:http://www.alenuts.com/brutus.htm

I'm wondering what the benefits or limitations are of each?

How did you guys decide which one to use?

Stainless kettles are better than keggles if you can afford it go for it.

I decided on keggles because of the price.

Keggles are cheaper than an equal sized 15 gal. SS kettle.

Keggles take longer to heat up and longer to cool down.

Keggles are most solidly built.

Good SS kettles usually have an aluminum clad bottom which heats up faster and spreads the heat more evenly.

Because there is less mass the SS kettle will cool down faster.

Most large SS kettles are wider rather than tall so that also helps the contents heat up faster.

SS kettles look awesome from the start. It will require some work to make a keggle as shiny and nice looking.

Keggles because nothing looks more manly (and because Chuck says so <------).

But stainless if you can afford it.
