Just wanted to get that out for future searchers. There is a thread or two that debates this pretty well.

It's usually your local or micros that get pinced in the deal because they can't pass the cost on to consumers. Thats why you'll see $10 deposits in some states and $100 in others. I belive that in many cases you have to register so that law enforcement or the state can crack down on house parties.
