Default Ideal Pump Flowrate

What is the optimal flow rate range of a utility pump, One that can be used for everything, transferring, sparging, cooling ... seems like the march pumps may sometimes be a little overkill for a smaller setup.

I think the reason most people use a March pump is that they're one of the cheaper food-grade pumps that can handle high temps. I tend to think my March pump doesn't have ENOUGH flow rate as I wish I could use it for more tasks.
Sorry, I know I didn't help answer your question.
