Default HEDPACK as a Lager container??

I was initially looking for a small glass container that would fit between the shelves in our beer fridge. When we got the freezer we overlooked a major detail, the cooling coils are the shelves. We had an idea to carefully bend them out of the way. But it got me to thinking about fitting a fermenter in between the shelves instead for lagers.

There's these plastic containers called HEDPACKs. here's a link. Several brewing sites are selling them but i was wondering if like BB's they are non-permiable to air and if they're food safe like BB and Fermenting buckets? I was also wondering what the dimensions are on one so i can see if they will fit.

Anyone used one and can give me info or see a reason it wouldn't work?

Never used one but the look nifty. I found this page which may help http://www.ebkcontainers.com/Products/Order.asp?PartNum=049-4358ASM&ProdID=35&Case=N

Says the dimensions are 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 16 1/2 Inches.

And the website you linked looked like it had a good price for a Hedpack and spout.

Awesome! That's exactly the details i was looking for. Thanks.

EDIT: You have to love wikipedia for information... Researching PE and PET i found that PET is treated to reduce air permeability and against alcohol. So HDPE like the HEDPACK isn't horribly permeable just more than a BB. But it is food safe (milk jugs).
