Default Grill Grate for a False Bottom?

Has anyone ever considered using a grill grate as a false bottom? I plan on doing some BIAB and am trying to figure out a way to keep my bag away from the heat source.

Something like this maybe for a sank keg?

Would something like this be safe to boil?

It would work as long as all your grains are in a bag or put a screen over the grill. You obviously can't just pour the grains onto the grate.

I'd look for a stainless steel grate.

How bout just making a grate by weaving and twisting some solid core copper ground wire into a grate. Don't really need anything special. Just keep the bag from laying on teh kettle bottom.
