Default filter thoughts please

I have a filter cannister I sometimes use for clarifying my beers. I tend to use a 1 micron filter because they are readily available and get the job done. I am considering using a 1 micron ceramic filter, but can not find any good information of them. I don't see any reason not to use one, but before I spend $30 on one I thought I would check with the experts.

Before I learned to brew I was poor, sober and lonely. Now I am just poor.

Filters are one thing that very few people use. I know a couple people that bought filters, used them a few times and then put them away.

I've used ceramic filters before, but not in brewing. They are easy to clean & sanitize. I might buy one for my filtering setup, if I start making more pale ales.
