Default Faucet Shank holes

Do all/most shanks require a 1" hole? I don't have mine yet, but am getting ready to drill my new keezer collar that I am building.

I think you may be able to go 7/8".

You might get away with 7/8", but 1" works without jamming.

Remember one unassailable statistic, as explained by the late, great George Carlin: "Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!"
