Default False bottom for BK

That's a good way to use the top after cutting it out! I'd replace the vinyl hose with silicone though. That braided stuff is great at low temp, but god knows what's going in your beer in a 90 minute boil.

Have you noticed the slightest bit of evidence of scorching? I'd like to do this, but I'm worried about a lack of circulation under the FB.

I have only done one boil with it so far but didnt have any scorching. I am taking out the hose and puttng in copper before the next boil.
