I just got a Barley Crusher and I just ran some grain through it too get a feel for how it works. My question is, do I need to clean the rollers after each batch? There was a bit of residue left on the rollers and I wasn't sure if that affects anything.

I don't know if it will eventually effect anything, but I clean mine off after every use just to be safe and to get the longest useful life possible out of my barley crusher. I just shoot it with compressed air while moving the rollers about or vacuum them off.

I use a clean paint brush. Since I started malt conditioning the rollers stay much cleaner, though.
