Default Cleaning Beer Keg

Hello to Everyone I've got a empty beer keg and was wondering what old beer looks like in bottom of the keg? Does it look like syrup or dark oil? I've searched and maybe I've overlooked it but can't seem to fine out what it looks like.

Thanks for the reply it kinda looks like syrup it's dark looking and I've used dish detergent and boiling hot water and got most of it out.But it still has some left in it like a oily film on bottom also.

If you use oxi (or PBW), soak it overnight in a solution. If that doesn't get it you can go back with Bar Keepers Friend and the nylon scrubby side of a kitchen sponge. Change out all the o rings.

Thanks for the reply I'll give oxi a try just wanted to make sure something else hadn't been put in there.

Corny keg or beer keg?
Beer kegs have beer. Even really old kegs, unless it's been contaminated somehow, just has beer in it. I wouldn't drink it, but it's just liquid beer. Not nasty, not thick or syrupy... just beer.
Corny kegs (soda kegs) on the other hand can be nasty.

Thanks for the reply it's a beer keg looks like some kind of film in the bottom of it. When I pushed down the ball some air came out of it then I removed the spear. Letting it soak in oxi now too see if that will get it out. Was going to use it just trying to see if old beer would look like that.
