Default Burner ignitors

Anybody come up with a way to light their burners remotely? I want to see it. I just finished my new single tier setup and would like to find some ideas on how to ignite remotely, without a pilot light.

ME TOO!!! I bet if you bought an ignitor with long wires you could run them just to the edge of the burner. A pilot light isn't a bad idea though...Brutus 10 uses one and it seems simple enough.

Look for a dryer or furnace igniter. They are ceramic elements that get super hot when current is applied.

If a spark is enough to light it, you can buy replacement sparkers for BBQ grills, those are really easy to use. I would think that since they can light a BBQ it would be enough, but then again the higher gas pressure might make it trickier.

Probably ought to be able to find whatever you want here: http://www.clagrills.com/allgrillparts/all-repairparts.htm I personally like the battery powered spark generator...part # 03300 kinda pricey, but man...push a button and click-click-click-click- WHOOSH!

I think you can find both - take a look around eBay and HVAC suppliers.

I use a stock propane grill sparker. I mounted the button on on leg of the stand and the spark unit on the burner. I think it was about $10 at Lowe's.

I rigged my burners up with grill igniters as well. It kicks ass.
