Default Which burner is best?

I just got a gift certificate to NB and I'm looking to get a new burner because mine sucks (its a 55,000 BTU burner with a 5 PSI regulator). I'm looking at the hurricane burner and the banjo classic. Does anyone have any experience with these, and which one is better a better deal?

I have some version of the banjo myself and love it. Pro is it's power, con is that it sounds like a jet engine.

They sound like they prefer the Hurricane.

The biggest question is the actual stand. Depending on whether you are using a keggle/pot or have a dedicated stand, etc-- the actual stand that the burner stands on may narrow this down. I know my keggles don't fit on the "High Pressure Burner & Stand" very well.

I thought the 10 PSI regulator that came with one of my small burners was pitiful I can't imagine a 5 PSI unit. That's down to almost natural gas pressure levels no wonder you're not happy. I think these guys are just afraid of some bozo suing them when they burn their house down frying turkeys

I got an adjustable regulator that goes to 30 PSI and put it on my small burner

I have 2 burners and a tiered system so I don't have to do as much or any lifting

I'm happy with my banjo burner although I wish the stand was a little bigger it works with my keggle but just barely

Disclaimer notice: I'm not recommending you or anyone else do this I'm simply stating what I did.
I don't want some Bozo suing me either

I'd save the NB gift certificate for something like ingredients and pick up a burner somewhere else. You'll probably get a better deal if you shop around.

My personal recommendation for a burner is the SQ-14 from Bayou Classic.

Thanks for all the helpful info guys! I'm going to go with the Bayou Classic type burners (which I'm going to check out Bass Pro Shops for) and save the money for ingredients.

Home Depots in Atlanta used to have some version of them (they have square grids on the top for keggle/pot) a couple months back for really cheap ($30-40) -- you may want to call around and see if any have them left.

I haven't seen them around here at a local home depot in about 2 months or so though.
