Default Brutus Ten build. Need burner selection advice.

Hi Guys I am a new member and this is my first post. I am building a Brutus Ten and I am in the process of making my decisions on heat and burner choice. I am going with the pressurized gas beam and propane. I am leaning towards a furnace valve for safety and would like to use jet burners. I was wondering if anyone has done a setup like this and used a 23 tip jet burner for HLT and 2 - 10 tips for mash and boil. Any advice? Thanks

If you plan to temperature control using a spark ignitor consider using one of the cast iron ring burners. The jet burners do great at putting out heat, but getting that gap just right with a spark ignitor on a jet burner can be tricky.

I finally got my 20 tip burners to be reliable on ignition by mounting the ignitor below the burner (instead of on the curved heat shield). It is much more stable now and required no adjustment during my last brew.

Other than that, the wok/jet burners are great. I went with 20 tip because having an odd number didn't make sense to me since they require opposing jets to mix everything properly.

Here are mine.

Thanks for the input. I guess to do that I need a controller right? I was originally going to go with lonnie mack setup of love controllers with a manual pilot. I will check that out. Which controller do you have? After reading several posts about about jet tips and gas valves I am mainly concerned about two things: 1) Is it difficult to do a low pressure set up with a common pressurized gas beam using two different sized jet burners? (i.e. a 23 tip for my HLT and a 10 tip for my MLT and BT) I am wondering if I would need separate regulators after the beam to pull this off; and 2) Is it even more difficult to do this with a furnace valve in the mix?

I use a pair of Blichmann TOP controllers.

Standing pilot should work well. These burners have a hole in the base for running a pilot (I use it to bolt them to the stand).

As for the regulators, I wouldn't know. I run natural gas straight from the meter through 3/4" pipe/hose, and reduce it to 1/2" on the last bit of run to the burners. No regulators required.
