Default Braided hose from kettle to counterflow chiller?

I have a Ball valve faucet on my kettle and i want to connect a counterflow chiller to the valve by using a SS braided hose in between them. The braided hose will give me a lot of flexibility in positioning and connecting the kettle to the chiller. Since the braided hose is after the valve and before the chiller, I am worried the extremely hot wort traveling through the rubber in the 16 inch hose, will give my beer off flavors. Any thoughts? Thanks

You should make sure the tubing is food grade and rated for high temp. If I did not see that listing I probably wouldn't use it. Lots of people use silicone tubing with hose barbs.
