Braid instead of HopStopper?
|
|
Will it work, or will it clog too quickly?

I'm going to actually answer the question you posted!
A ss braid works quite well for straining out whole hops. Not so well for pellet hops. (When I use pellets, I use muslin bags).

Good. I prefer whole hops. Don't know why, just do. $60 for a hopstopper just seems a bit pricey.

I would recommend ending your siphon dip tube with a T, and then clamping both ends of a long SS braid to the T. I just have mine clamped to the end of the tube, but it flops around a fair amount in the pot that way.

Uh, that's really not nice. Thank God I was alone in my office with the door closed.
