That turned out amazing! Great work. For the "aged" top, did you just take a torch to the wood prior to staining?

I love this. Very nice job, Lennon. I really like that it is completely self contained. You could even lock it up to keep the kids out. I am going to steal this idea and then completely forget about it before I ever get the chance to build one myself.

Hey IrregularPulse, the stain was a trial and error, but what I did was stain the top with a dark walnut color. I then sanded the heck out of it in random spots until I saw the original plywood. I then stained it again with a cherry color. The more you sand the better the look gets.

I have something similar, but only for storage and not for esthetics. The bottom is refrigerated.
