Default Baltimorons: Homebrew shop closer than Columbia?

Let me preface by saying I love Maryland Homebrew and it has my loyalty. They will always be my first choice for homebrew equipment and stuff.

However, sometimes I just need to run out and pick up something small like an extra stopper or some Star San. I live in the northern part of the city and MD Homebrew is a 40-45 minute drive, more if there's traffic or a Ravens/Orioles game going on. That's over an hour of driving for a NQLHBS (not quite local...)

I've searched the internet and there's one in Baldwin, which is equally far in the other direction....

Is there anything I'm missing or are these my only options?

Thanks,
chris.

P.S. On a related note, where's a good place to fill a C02 tank? Right now my first choice is Harford Beverage Company but I'd be open to something a bit closer.

If you are in the northern part of the city, i gotta believe that Thirsty Brewer in Baldwin is closer. Traffic is certainly eaiser. I guess it depends on what you mean by northern part. There are three HBS that I know of in this area. Annapolis which is actually in Severna Park, Maryland in Columbia, and Thirsty Brewer in Baldwin.

Thanks for the responses. Sigh, I just wish there were one IN the city, or even in Towson. So many Baltimore homebrewers, and we all have to deal with 95 traffic and getting in/out of the city, especially if we want to get there between work and a 6pm closing time. Maybe MDHB should open up another franchise?

I don't know what to tell ya dude, jezter6 is kinda by you, maybe he'll know.

On the other hand, I'm just a spoiled bitch, Annapolis HB is less than a mile away from me.....

The 2 mentioned are the only local places I know to get brew gear.

I imagine, like most of the people on the boards - obviously excluding 98EXL, that there isn't really a 'super close' place to just go buy an airlock for a majority of us. There's not that much demand for our hobby that you can find a bunch in a city as small as Baltimore.

So, you're stuck either way. At least Thirsty Brewer is up in the country and a nice ride once you get north of the beltway. It's also very near the winery, so you can always stop by there with SWMBO as a nice thing to do then "while we're up here, I need to run over to this place nearby..."
