Looking for something comparable to Lonnie Mac's valves he used in his Brutus Ten. Now I have found a couple on eBay and would like some clarification before I order if you guys don;t mind.

1 Normally closed?

2. 120V/60Hz?

3. 1/2" NPT

4. Most say minimum operating pressure is 5 psi, is that really a big deal if I don't have a full 5 psi going in? Not sure what the lp regulator on my banjo burner is.

5 Gas, liquid, and air?

Do I need a certain one, or as long as it meets the above criteria I will be fine.

Thanks

I just got one, but have not installed it yet, but from my readings ect... you want one that is Normally closed, 120v and 60HZ. The pipe thread size is up to you, most people go with 1/2". Now, the ASCO valve that I got was a 5psi minimup pressure, but my Banjo burner runs at 15psi. So I am guessing I will be fine. I dont know what the LP burners run at, but I am sure they run around 5psi.

Sounds like you've got it. It seems the 8210 series is intended for fuel. I can't imagine why you would run less than 5 psi through it.

I am also in the process of making a brutus and I noticed that Lonnie recomend SS 45 degree solenoid valve. I am finding basss at 45 degree but only in line SS valves. DOnt know the advantage from one or the other but mechanically is the same.

I am string to stick to the plan but is getting dificult to find.
