Default Anyone use tea jugs?

I found some 1 gallon teat jugs at Walmart and they looked like they would work nicely for a small batch fermenter.

They are glass with a spigot just off the bottom, with a plastic lid with a hole already in it, ready for an airlock.

I really was looking for something bigger, but it looked like it would work pretty nicely, so I grabbed one. Before I get a chance to try it, has anyone else used one?

Those spigots aren't well designed for cleaning and sanitizing afterwards.

i've never had one that didn't leak a little either. messy things.

it would be doable, but the sanitation risks would prevent me from messing with it. plus i have 2.5 and 1 gallon jug fermenters already.

The spigot probably isn't too much crappier than the ones on a Mr. Beer.

No reason why these wouldn't work.
