Default Aluminum Pot Prep?

Is there anything I need to do to a brand new aluminum pot besides sanitize it before brewing in it?

You don't even need to sanitize it -- it will be exposed to boiling temperatures, after all. I'd just make sure it's clean.

Fill it with water and boil it, then do not scrub off the gray oxidation. The gray is what keeps the aluminum flavor out of the wort, and is really somewhat like the coating of cookpots.

My turkey fryer pot turned a dark grey when I did the initial boil. One thing I would reccomend would be to boil as full as you can get the pot.

Eventually I will properly anodize the inside of the pot.
