Default Aluminum?

I work part-time at a local hardware store, and we sell 30qt turkey fryers. Big stock pot, burner, everything included, and I was thinking of using this for a wort boiler. I've seen alot of stainless steel set-ups, but this turkey fryer pot is aluminum. Does this affect taste, head retention at all?

Thanks!

-J

No, aluminum is fine. We've had many, many discussions about this and many of us use aluminum. The turkey fryer quality is not great, though- my pot dented super easily, and a 6 gallon boil seems always in danger of boiling over. Still, that's what I use and it works for me.

It's more a matter of preference. I've used both aluminum and SS, either is just fine.

Here's a little extra reading for you on the subject too.

My fryer pot got dented pretty easily, but it will still work. It was my fault it dented, but I doubt a SS pot would have.
