Default The accidental Lambic

Racked myCoal Porter and SimpAle Pale to kegs today while brewing two new batches. The porter came out so clean and tasty! The pale ale was SOUR!

Haven't had issues with infections so far, but this was some SERIOUS SourPus!

Only thing I could think of was that I had not removed and cleaned the soft O-ring in the lid of my Coopers fermenter. Also changed the spigot, but I do that every batch and clean the alternate spigot between brews.

Have a new batch in the fermentor now. If it goes bad, then I buy and new primary and pitch the Coopers.

Anyone else had a batch go seriously sour?

Yes - a hazard of summer brewing in Florida. My brew partners (big Lambic fans) loved it, so I donated my share. Dubbed it "FLambic" and stuck to winter brewing.
