Default 55 gallon stainless drum(s)

I'm trying to locate a source for 55 gallon stainless steel drums.

I've been asking everyone I run into, that might possibly be able to point me in the right general direction. so far I have had no luck.

One guy told me....at a previous place of employment they stored used anti freeze in 55 gallon stainless drums. When I asked where they obtained them he said he didn't know, and that they just had them there.

Brand New drums are a bit expensive.

I haven't priced out fabrication yet, might or might not be an option.

E-bay comes to mind, but then I haven't a clue what was in the drum before I got it. If I order a drum from some where else I could still have the same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

DOH I just found this thread:

morebeer seems reasonable. even after the shipping, lol.

try lab safety supply. I buy various sizes from them for work but these items are not cheap. I'll try to find a contact name and post it later. There was a thread about two weeks ago and someone posted a cheaper vendor. search the equipment forum. Good luck
Here's the link to Lab Safety Supply.

I saw a 100 gallon one not very long ago (within two or three days), but I can't remember if it was Craigslist or eBay. Looked kinda nasty, though, and I don't think they said what was in it previously. I wanna say that they were looking for about a grand for it.

Try ths place:

http://www.labx.com/

Search 55 gallon tank and I think several should come up. You run into the prior use issue with these as well, although in my lab we only use these tanks for hot water.

Check out www.heritage-equipment.com. They've always got stainless tanks in all different sizes, shapes, and prices.

You could try these guys. They seem to have 4 of them.

Here is another one. Straight sides. A little beat up but to me that means cheaper. I might actually look at a few of these.
